Success in medicinal chemistry is based on a foundation of strong synthetic execution skills, combined with a deep understanding of key factors in drug discovery such as structure-activity relationships, the interpretation of biological data, the importance of physicochemical properties, and a profound general knowledge of drugs and their activities. In addition, medicinal chemists must have a good understanding of the biology associated with a drug discovery target and therefore be capable to have a dialogue with their counterparts in biology. Moreover, a solid knowledge of intellectual property and patent aspects as well as data integrity is necessary.

With the successful progression of projects, it is common that larger quantities of compounds are required for studies in vivo. Selcia can provide you with amounts of several hundred grams of non-GMP material. We will also optimise the synthetic route of clinical candidate compounds to provide the foundations of a manufacturing process.
