This is the 2nd in a series of meetings on mitochondrial disorders and the quest for novel effective therapies. Mitochondrial diseases form the largest group of inherited metabolic disorders, and the past decade has seen major advances in the understanding of the molecular mechanisms involved. Novel therapeutic strategies are being developed based on this new knowledge, and preclinical studies in animal models show great promise.

This conference brings together world leaders in the field of translational mitochondrial medicine in an interactive programme designed to engage and inspire a new generation of mitochondrial researchers who will harness this new technology to prevent and treat these devastating diseases.
