Corporate Social Responsibility Policy (CSR)

Purpose and principles

Selcia’s Corporate Social Responsibility Policy (CSR) has been developed to ensure that the company’s entire business is conducted according to rigorous professional, ethical and legal standards. Our CSR requires us to continually review and improve efforts to lessen our impact on the environment while nurturing a workplace of diversity, inclusion and employee satisfaction. Additionally, it demands that we conduct responsible business practices and uphold the highest ethical standards in everything from research and development to sales and marketing.

Developed and approved by Selcia’s Senior Management Team, implementation of the CSR is the responsibility of Selcia’s Chief Operating Officer. Individual managers are responsible for ensuring that the principles outlined in the policy are communicated, understood and adhered to by all employees and for ensuring compliance in their area of responsibility.

Alongside the CSR, a code of business ethics has been established that applies to all operational aspects of the company’s business and sets out the minimum standards that the Senior Management Team expects from all employees in their internal and external dealings with colleagues, customers, stakeholders and third parties. The code requires Selcia to conduct its business with honesty, integrity and openness, respecting human rights and the interests of both employees and customers and the legitimate interests of third parties with whom it has business relations.

Selcia will ensure that it remains compliant with all statutory and local laws and legislations relevant to its business operations.

  • Employees Selcia is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for its employees in line with statutory legislation and its Health, Safety and Environmental policies. The company strives to create an environment of mutual trust and respect where employees’ rights, customs and traditions, including the right to freedom of association and trade union membership, are recognised; and where it will negotiate in good faith with properly elected employee representatives.  Selcia will maintain a diverse workforce, recruiting, employing and promoting employees on the grounds of objective criteria, qualifications and expertise.
  • Customers Selcia will provide safe, high quality, consistent and reliable services to its customers in line with statutory legislation, existing policies and the Selcia Quality System.
  • Shareholders Selcia will conduct its operations in accordance with the principles of good corporate governance, providing timely, regular and reliable information on the business to all shareholders.

Meantime, we would expect all partners to adhere to business principles consistent with Selcia and for all operations to be conducted in accordance with the principles of fair competition and applicable regulations.

Business Integrity

Selcia will ensure that neither the company nor its employees shall seek or offer inducements or other improper advantages for business or financial gain. Our financial accounting and other records and supporting documents will accurately describe and reflect the nature of the underlying transactions.

The environment

We are committed to making continuous improvement in the management of our environmental impact, for example by working with customers and using best practical methods to reduce the use and waste generated in the company’s business operations. Wherever possible, we will work with our partners to promote environmental care, increase understanding of environmental issues and disseminate good practice.
